The Inventory Controller at Printemps Doha is responsible for ensuring stock accuracy, integrity of system records, and smooth inventory flow across the luxury retail business. This role requires hands-on execution of stock counts, perpetual stock verification (PSV), reconciliation activities, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams including Finance, Loading bay, Operation, and Buying. The position is vital in maintaining optimal stock levels, minimizing losses, and supporting the financial integrity of inventory records.
Responsibilities
- Ensure end-to-end stock management across all retail departments, from goods receiving to in-store availability.
- Oversee Perpetual Stock Verification (PSV) program, including planning, execution, and reporting of continuous cycle counts.
- Organize and lead periodic full physical inventory counts, coordinating with operations, warehouse, and external/internal auditors.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions in ERP, ensuring consistency between physical stock and system records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in collaboration with Finance and Retail Operations, identifying root causes and initiating corrective actions.
- Support system data entry for all stock-related transactions: GRNs, transfers, RTVs, write-offs, markdowns, and adjustments.
- Prepare and maintain accurate stock aging, shrinkage, and performance reports for management review.
- Maintain high accuracy in stock coding, bin locations, tagging, and system updates for seamless replenishment and traceability.
- Collaborate with Finance during month-end closing to ensure proper reconciliation of inventory ledgers and valuation.
- Monitor and validate PSV adjustments prior to posting to ensure integrity of data.
- Work closely with Buying, VM, and Operation teams to support seasonal transitions, brand launches, and clearance activities.
- Uphold security protocols, especially for high-value and serialized items such as jewelry, watches, and tech.
- Assist in audit preparations and provide documentation or analysis as required by internal and external auditors.
Qualifications
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or Supply Chain
- Experience – 3–5 years of experience in inventory or stock control, preferably in a luxury or high-volume retail setting
- ERP Systems – Proficient in Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or other retail inventory platforms
- Technical Skills – Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, reconciliation sheets); ability to extract and analyze ERP reports
- Language – Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Inventory Accuracy – Strong knowledge of PSV, cycle counts, physical stock procedures, and adjustment protocols
- Finance Collaboration – Ability to liaise with finance for reconciliations, system entries, and audit compliance
- Problem-Solving – Strong analytical mindset to investigate variances and prevent recurrence
- Integrity & Discretion – Especially in managing sensitive and high-value inventory
