Role Overview
As a Workout & Remediation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing and restructuring non-performing loans (NPLs), distressed assets, and high-risk corporate exposures. This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of a Workout Specialist/ Remedial Relationship Manager, with a strong focus purely in Wholesale Banking clients, particularly Large Corporates. You will lead negotiations, develop tailored restructuring strategies, and ensure optimal recovery while maintaining strong client relationships and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze distressed and non-performing corporate accounts to develop and implement effective restructuring and remediation strategies.
- Act as the primary relationship manager for high-risk wholesale banking clients, ensuring clear communication and tailored solutions.
- Negotiate complex repayment plans and workout agreements with large corporate borrowers to maximize recovery and minimize losses.
- Conduct detailed financial and credit analysis to assess borrower viability and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk teams to manage litigation, enforcement, and settlement processes.
- Monitor restructured accounts to ensure adherence to agreed terms and proactively address early warning signals.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, including recovery forecasts, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
- Stay abreast of local and international regulatory developments, market trends, and legal frameworks related to distressed asset management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CFA/FRM preferred).
- 8–12 years of experience in loan restructuring, account remediation, or special assets management within Wholesale Banking, with a focus on Large Corporate clients.
- Strong expertise in credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and restructuring strategies.
- Proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to handle sensitive client situations professionally.
- Solid understanding of legal and regulatory aspects of loan recovery, litigation, and enforcement.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
